Made from sustainably harvested, Canyon Oak (Quercus Emoryii), Our Perfect Pizza Wood is only heat-treated but high temperature stabilized to solidify resins resulting in a clean, smokeless, high temperature fire that lights like a charm.
We invented this for our OWN pizza oven use; we love wood fired pizza, probably too much! It lights quickly using newspaper or commercially available lighters and rapidly makes a clean hot fire that heats the oven right up and makes that perfect ‘over the top’ flame the directions that came with your oven, tell you to get!
WHY OUR WOOD IS PERFECT FOR PIZZA
4.5” long x 1-2” wide, neat fire-sticks, are neatly boxed in a variety of packages.
8-12% humidity, Heat-Treated Certified, clean long burning very hard wood.
Use it for any pizza or other wood fired oven designed to burn hot and clean.
How much? Two or three handfuls will cook a few pizzas, more as needed, call it a pound of wood for a pizza evening with family, a bit more with more folks.
This wood is harvested in Mexico by members of local Ejidos or citizens collaboratives. It is supervised by Semarnap the Mexican department of the environment and is often from dead standing white, Canyon Oak trees in the high Sierras of northern Mexico. We pay fair trade wages, prices, adhere to all international regulations and work for the benefit of the forests, communities and our trade partners.
